Lux Stellarum

This chapter is dedicated to the beauty of our outer universe. “Lux Stellarum” means starlight. Capturing the light of the stars and capturing these works of art of creation in images has been my passion for many, many years. My interest in the stars was aroused in early childhood and space began to interest me more and more.

At the age of 12, I attended an astronomical slideshow with my father, which was produced by the then famous astrophotography group “Alt-Brodkorb-Rihm-Rusche”. The colors and structures of galaxies and nebulae impressed me so much that I really wanted to become an astrophotographer. Kurt Rihm became my mentor and showed me the first steps in practical astronomy. Later, he came into contact with Jürgen Linder, the then head of the comet group at the VDS (Vereinigung der Sternfreunde), who lived in a neighboring village at the time. He also expanded my knowledge of practical astronomy at that time.

In the mid-90s I moved to the Swabian Alb. The dark sky and the good observation conditions facilitated the decision to finally build a permanent observatory. A fixed observation location and the change from analogue to digital recording systems improved the image quality immensely.

Finally, I would like to thank my parents and my partner, who have always actively supported me. I am also grateful to all those who have given me help and support in various ways over the past decades.

I hope now that you have the same pleasure in looking at the pictures as I had when I created them.
